Start Date & Scope

• Part-time, 1 shift per week on Tuesdays 4pm-12am
• First shift Tuesday, September 29 (2-3 training shifts prior)

Position Overview

The Interval at The Long Now Foundation seeks a skilled, personable, and dependable bartender to join our team. This role requires a passion for hospitality, coffee, craft cocktails, and engaging with a curious, intellectually driven community. You’ll be instrumental in providing a memorable guest experience while upholding the values and mission of Long Now.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional bar service, including preparing and serving coffee, cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages

• Engage warmly with guests, answer questions about our drinks and mission, and create a welcoming environment

• Help prepare housemade ingredients, set up and break down the bar 

• Be part of a thoughtful, team-focused staff that values mutual support, shared responsibility, and collaborates to create an enjoyable workplace.

• Support events and programming as needed

Qualifications

• High EQ with strong customer service and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work efficiently and stay composed in a fast-paced environment

• Availability to work Tuesday nights

• Curiosity for The Long Now Foundation’s mission and programming

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive hourly wage $20.50 + tips

• Unique benefits such as: tip minimum guarantee, paid time off including holiday closures (approximately 9 federal holidays per year and annual holiday closure)
