Andrew Warner
Special Projects Director
Andrew has been at Long Now since 02012 working on many of Long Now's public programs. He currently works on the Manual for Civilization, Long Bets, Rosetta, the Nevada Bristlecone Preserve, and helps produce Long Now Talks. Over the years, he’s had the opportunity to work on most of Long Now’s public programs, including the exhibits at The Interval, hosting/co-producing the Long Now Talks, press outreach, and the Member Summit. He’s happiest when a project has a pleasant mix of intellectual heft, fun collaboration, DIY spirit, and pretty spreadsheets.
Andrew’s other work experience includes Senior Content Manager at Ustream.tv, teaching Comparative Religion at San Quentin Prison, writing/producing immersive theater, and DJing. He studied Religious Studies at Reed College, writing his thesis on messianic Transhumanism, a topic he wishes were less relevant today. He’s passionate about community, gathering, and nice lighting. When not working, you can find him exploring, gardening, building something, or playing with his dog.
