Tom Coutts
Tom is a partner at Baillie Gifford, the Scottish investment firm that was founded in 01908. He joined Baillie Gifford in 01999 and leads the International Growth strategy, investing in exceptional growth companies based outside the US. He is a devotee of the work of Long Now, and passionate about bringing wisdom from outside the world of finance to bear on the task of long-term investing. He oversees the firm’s relationships with academic partners, including Panmure House – Adam Smith’s final home – and the Santa Fe Institute. He lives in Edinburgh.
