Aya Miyaguchi is the President of the Ethereum Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to supporting Ethereum, a global open-source public blockchain with the potential to transform critical systems and improve the lives of billions. She leads with the principles of long-term thinking, and “subtraction,” an approach that emphasizes creating conditions for others to build rather than controlling outcomes.

From 02018 to 02025, Aya served as the Foundation’s Executive Director, where she seeded the “Infinite Garden” vision, a metaphor and guiding philosophy for Ethereum as an open, permissionless, and evolving ecosystem. This vision took root through initiatives that connected communities across Latin America, Southeast Asia, Africa, and beyond. Under her leadership, the Foundation strengthened its commitment to decentralization and supported thoughtful advances in cryptography, along with projects that bridged Ethereum with public sector, academic, grassroots communities and artists.
