Rosetta Disk 1.0 Browsable Archive on DVD
This DVD contains the full contents of the Rosetta Disk Language Archive, Version 1, which contains 13,000 pages of documentation on over 1,500 human languages – a collection of information that attests to a richness of human cultural and linguistic diversity in the year 02008.
The viewer for the digital version of the Rosetta Disk on this DVD is powered by the OpenLayers 2.5 map visualization framework. The archive is fully browsable from the DVD, but you will get much better performance if you copy the contents of the disk (2.5 gigabytes) to your hard drive. Depending on the speed of your drive, this may take up to 1 hour.
All proceeds from the sale of the DVD goes to help support the Rosetta Project.

Iolet: The Music of Anathem
In Neal Stephenson’s new novel Anathem, the Decanarian Erasmus’ daily chore is to ring the Clock bells in his “Math” in a special sequence each day as he chants out the sequence. Those sequences and chants are all based on mathematical formulae that composer and coder David Stutz has put together into an album called Iolet. Stutz calls the music “a pseudo-liturgical use of mathematics and higher thinking.” You can see more background from Stutz on the album here. (In addition you might find some of the excerpts recently released from the book’s extensive glossary worth a peek.)
This CD is available for purchase on CD Baby.com.
January 07003 Bell Studies
